Having graduated from the University of Brighton in 1992 with an honours degree in computer science, Mark Slemmings worked for major computer companies and as a self employed I.T. consultant for several years. During this time Mark found that his interests were moving away from I.T. towards photography and outdoor pursuits such as scuba diving, kayaking and skiing.
In the new Millennium Mark decided it was time for a major life change and chose to go professional with his photography whilst striving to become a location cameraman. To this aim Mark resigned from his comfortable I.T. job, sold his house and started a two year filming course at Ravensbourne College of design and communication.
Upon successfully completing Ravensbourne's broadcast operations foundation degree, Mark secured his first job as a national BBC news location cameraman working for GlobeCast (formerly NewsForce).
Since starting his filming career Mark's achievements as a location cameraman have been considerable. He has filmed underwater and surface documentaries, national awards ceremonies and regularly films national live BBC1 news to audiences approaching 8,000,000 viewers.
So if you are looking for a reliable, professional cameraman or photographer; be it 50 metres underwater, filming with a helmet mounted bullet camera whilst kayaking or skiing, filming Steadicam or whether you are simply looking for a skilled, professional cameraman/photographer for your documentary; Mark Slemmings has the equipment, enthusiasm and skills for the job.
